Reconstruction of an apartment in the heart of old Prague
Reconstruction in numbers
Flat reconstruction consisted of a complete change of the original dispositions. All non-load-bearing partitions were demolished and subsequently replaced by new SDK partitions with a double flap, mainly due to the achievement of greater strength and sound insulation, which was improved with the help of acoustic insulation Stereo acoustics 50.
As often happens with old apartments - there is nothing new. It was the same with the floor. In order to be able to properly level the floor and, in addition, strengthen it, the most extensive variant was chosen. It was therefore necessary to pull out all the parquets, choose the embankment of rubble under the parquets and get to the load-bearing beams. After the subsequent assurance that the beams are in good condition, the technology of Fermacel slabs, including the embankment and geotextile, was chosen.
Subsequently, a perfect plane and a solid base for laying the future floor was made. A 3-layer wooden floor in beech rustic decor was chosen as the final floor covering.
The walls and plaster, which was repaired and fastened with a bead, also underwent reconstruction. This gave the walls a new life and another two-year guarantee against cracking.
Another reconstruction of the apartment consisted in a complete replacement of electrical wiring, according to current regulations. Electricity revision was a matter of course. All water and waste pipes have been replaced with new plastic pipes, providing an almost lifetime warranty. The old gas heaters were replaced by a new boiler, including copper pipes to the radiator. A pressure test of the heating distributions was also carried out, which found that the heating was OK and working as it should. The bathroom and toilet were lined with light small-format tiles from the Italian supplier BProjekt. Bathroom and toilet equipment were supplied by Czech suppliers.
In the final, the entire apartment was painted with white abrasion-resistant paint "Primalex forte", which ensures easy maintenance of the walls from possible dirt. Subsequently, work continued in the form of delivery of joinery products and doors.
The result of the implementation is very nice and successful. Both the investor and the construction supervisor and the architect are very satisfied and we can be proud of another great project, because we enjoy reconstructing.
